Using Sync Templates
When you create a new Sync in Byteline, the first step is to choose the two apps you want to connect. Based on the selected apps, Byteline automatically shows you a set of pre-built Sync templates that are designed to get you up and running quickly. If no template is available for the selected app pair, Byteline will take you directly into the Sync configuration so you can build it from scratch.
Sync templates save time by providing a fully pre-configured setup specific to the apps you are integrating. Instead of manually configuring every mapping, field, and workflow step, templates let you start with a complete blueprint—so you only provide the few details that are unique to your environment.
How Templates Work
Once you select your two apps, Byteline displays the templates available for that particular app combination. For example, when you select Webflow and Printful, you’ll see the following templates:
- Sync Products (Printful → Webflow)
This template automatically syncs your Printful products into Webflow eCommerce, including product details, variants, pricing, and images.
Only minimal inputs are required—for example, selecting your Webflow eCommerce site. All other configurations, mappings, and workflows are pre-built for you. - Sync Orders (Webflow → Printful)
This template sends new Webflow eCommerce orders directly to Printful for fulfillment.
The workflow is already configured to handle order data, customer information, and line items. You only provide the connection details for your Webflow site and Printful account. - Start From Scratch
If you prefer full control, you can build a Sync without using any template. This option starts with a blank configuration where you manually set up each part of the sync—connections, mappings, filters, field transformations, and more.
This is ideal for advanced users or custom workflows that do not match the pre-built templates.
Why Use Templates?
Templates save you significant setup time by providing a ready-made configuration tailored to the selected apps. Each template includes:
- Pre-configured table mapping so you don’t have to determine how objects relate across the two apps.
- Pre-mapped fields that automatically connect source fields to destination fields—no manual matching required.
- Pre-configured unique keys to correctly identify and match records between the two systems.
- Best-practice defaults created by Byteline experts to ensure reliable and optimized syncing.
- Minimal required inputs, such as selecting your Webflow site or Printful store.
With templates, you skip the detailed configuration work. Just provide the few inputs specific to your setup, and Byteline handles everything else.
When To Use "Start From Scratch"
Choose this option if:
- You need a fully custom sync not covered by existing templates
- Your workflow has unique logic or conditions
- You want total control over mappings and filters.
This option gives you the highest flexibility but requires more setup effort.
