In August 2021, we released 6 new updates and settled notable bugs. This release notes provide information on the improvements and additions that have been implemented in the Byteline console. The latest updates include the changes in the dashboard, Scheduler Airtable Update, Airtable Trigger, Webflow CMS, and much more.
Byteline’s scraper automatically detects the site’s robots.txt and performs data extraction only if it allows. Read how to configure the Web Scraper node to learn more.
You can enter the site URL in the web Scraper configuration window and it will check whether the site’s robots.txt file allows data scraping or not.
If the site doesn’t allow scraping, an error message will pop up “The website is not allowed to be scrapped according to its robots.txt”. Then, the web scraper will not perform data extraction for the site.
If the site’s robots.txt file allows scraping then only the web scraper performs data extraction.
In the Airtable Update Records, you can now refine the Airtable value even more precisely with the help of three new filter options to update the exactly required data.
For configuring the advanced filter option, enter the Airtable column name. Next, click on the filter dropdown and select the required option.
The dropdown can be updated with the following options:
Not Equals to: With the “not equals to” option you can retrieve the data from the Airtable columns which are not equal to the value entered in the value field.
Contains: With the “contains” option you can retrieve the data from the Airtable columns which contains the value entered in the value field.
Not Contains: With the “not contains” option you can retrieve the data from the Airtable columns which does not contain the value entered in the value field.
In the Airtable Trigger, you can refine the Airtable value even more precisely with the help of filter dropdown options to induce triggers exactly for the required data.
For configuring the advanced filter option, enter the Airtable column name. Next, click on the filter dropdown and select the required option.
The dropdown can be updated with the following options:
Not Equals to: With the “not equals to” option you can prompt trigger for the data in the Airtable columns which are not equal to the value entered in the value field.
Contains: With the “contains” option you can trigger for the data in Airtable columns which contains the value entered in the value field.
Not Contains: With the “not contains” option you can trigger for the data in the Airtable columns which does not contain the value entered in the value field.
The scheduler can now be configured with a daily option as well as a local timezone system. If you need to follow your local time zone, then you can use this property. Moreover, you can also set daily, weekly and monthly timezone in your scheduler to execute a task at regular intervals.
We have released an intuitive dashboard for easy navigation and resource management. Now, you can easily check actions consumed, current plans, flows, videos, documentation, feature requests, and release notes.
Actions Consumed: In this section, the number of actions consumed for the selected time frame is displayed.
In the billing console, you can view and click on the upgrade button for the respective subscription to switch from your current plan.
Flows: You can check the flow list and the number of actions taken for each particular flow from the dashboard.
Now you can view and access the Byteline resources easily through the dashboard only. In the resource section, you can explore videos, documentation, feature requests, and release notes.
You can check the Byteline youtube tutorial to get an active learning experience by clicking on the videos tab.
To check the Byteline documentation page simply click on the documentation tab. The documentation helps to understand node configurations, workflows, and much more.
You can simply click on Features requests to review the listed features and vote for the ones that you would like to use.
You can propose Byteline to add a new feature, simply provide the required details and hit the Create Post button.
Tap on the Release Note tab to read Byteline’s latest release note. It informs about the changes in the product, specifically the adjustments that are made from time to time to improve your experience.
Earlier you need to know coding and formatting skills for styling but with the Byteline, you can easily convert the Markdown into HTML with a single click. Now, you can type or paste your function in markdown and see it rendered as HTML.
To convert a markdown expression into HTML, click on the respective Select Variable tool.
Simply you can go to the function to view the options.
For easy conversion, now you can use the markdowntoHtml option.
At last, tap on the save button to store your configuration.
An API key is generated automatically so that you can invoke your Byteline flows from third-party services. The API key acts as a unique identifier and provides a secret code for authentication purposes.
For the API key, you can simply go to the account section of your profile.
To view the API key tap on the Show button.
If you suspect that your secret API key has been compromised, you may wish to expire your existing API key and generate a new one by clicking on the Regenerate Key button.
Byteline uses token-based sessions to secure data transfer between the Byteline console and its backend. The session will remain valid for two hours. After the session expires the users are prompted with a pop-up to reload the console.
In the Webflow CMS, you can determine the Webflow CMS column value even more precisely with the help of filter dropdown options to update the exactly required data.
For configuring the advanced filter option, enter the Webflow CMS column name. Next, click on the filter dropdown and select the required option.
Not Equals to: With the “not equals to” option you can update data for the Webflow CMS columns which are not equal to the value entered in the value field.
Contains: With the “contains” option you can update data for the Webflow CMS columns which contains the value entered in the value field.
Not Contains: With the “not contains” option you can update data for the Webflow CMS columns which do not contain the value entered in the value field.
